Twitter Local

As I’ve been playing with Twitter for the last few days, I’ve come up with several different tools and ideas of things you can do with Twitter, one of which I just found had already been done… Twitter Local.

To use it you just put in a zip code or city name, and then if you want to include cities close by (within 5, 10, 20 miles etc.). I created one for my local area, and thought this could be an interesting business tool for local businesses.

If you owned a restaurant, a barbershop, or any other service that is locally based, Twitter may be, in the future, an opportunity to engage potential customers, offer advice, and even offer coupons or discounts via Twitter. Lots of possibilities, but of course Twitter Local would have to go more main stream (like be built into Twitter).
